Is there a place to park a car?
Yes, there’s a free parking lot in front of the main entrance to the rancho
Am I allowed to bring food and drinks into the sanctuary?
Unfortunately, due to state and federal regulations, food or drinks are not allowed inside the sanctuary. Exceptions are: bottled water and baby food and formula. Ice chests and coolers are not allowed inside of the sanctuary or on the rancho grounds.
*School groups are allowed to bring in lunches for their classes at the rancho area only.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Unfortunately, due to state and federal regulations, your furry friends are not allowed inside sanctuary, however, you’re welcome to bring your pets to the rancho area. There’s no charge for bringing your pet to the rancho/park.
*Service animals are allowed inside the sanctuary under the direct care of their owner.Mariposario Jardín Mágico asks that all guests with service animals check in at the entrance booth for a check-in process.
Do you offer tours?
Yes, we offer guided tours (in Spanish and English) at the butterfly sanctuary. Tours are scheduled as follows: 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3:00pm.
What kind of discounts do you offer?
We offer various discounts – for school groups, kids, and more. Please contact us for details.
Are you handicap accessible?
Yes, all butterfly sanctuary areas are handicap accessible, as well as the bathrooms and restaurant area. We have a variety of options to assist you and your family.

What should I bring with me?
We strongly suggest bringing with you sunscreen, insect repellent, hat/cap, comfortable sport shoes, sunglasses, camera,hand sanitizer, tissues/napkins, cash, and a happy mind-set.
What is the smoking policy at the sanctuary?
Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted inside of sanctuary. There are designated areas within the rancho and restaurant for smoking cigarettes.

Do you accept charitable donations?
We welcome any potted flowers and plant donations. We also welcome and sincerely appreciate any donations to our scientific research, community outreach and educational programs. Should you like to make a donation, please contact us for additional information.

¿What days and hours are you open?
We are open 7 days a week from 10:30AM to 3:30PM (Winter - 11:00 AM to 3:00PM).
Can we touch butterflies while at the sanctuary?
No. Butterflies are covered with minuscule overlapping scales, thus their scientific name (Lepidoptera), which means scaly wings. Removal of butterfly’s scales can shorten their life span and makes them less beautiful since their colorful designs are in the scale patterns. The slightest touch brushes away these tiny scales.
