What a fantastic experience! My friend and I spent a week in PV and participated in several tours during our trip, and this was by far our favorite. Incredibly knowledgeable... read more guide and an amazing array of beautiful butterflies. We learned so much from this tour. I love going to the Mariposario as there is so much to learn about butterflies and their lives. Krys and Fabian are so knowledgeable and love to share their... read more knowledge with everyone who visits. It is a modest, out of the mainstream place and so worth a visit when in Puerto Vallarta and it’s northern surrounds

My partner and I booked a tour on our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed the tour at Planeta Cacao, and loved the hands-on activity of making our... read more own cocoa paste. Yum! Our guide for the Butterfly Garden, Fabian, was so great. He was extremely knowledgeable about butterflies, the various species, and host plants that are all native to the area. We learned a lot, and he was really fun to chat with during and after the tour. Bonus: we were impressed by the selection of natural, healthy snacks 🙂 It’s worth mentioning that the Mariposario team was really helpful in setting up transportation to and from the sites. I had my celluar data off in the days leading up to the tour, so I didn’t get the messages until the day-of but they were super responsive when I called, and they helped to arrange everything very quickly. Very helpful, given we were coming from Punta de Mita. Overall, I highly recommend visiting (and supporting) the Jardín Mágico: we loved seeing what they’re doing to preserve the local ecosystem, and educate kids and the broader community in PV. So cool, and so very, very important.

This is a very unique experience. My wife and I had a fabulous chat with Krys, the director, before our guided tour. The tour isn’t long (30 minutes or so)... read more but very informative. You will learn about the diversity and importance of butterflies to the world we live in. Please take this tour. I know you’ll learn many new things you didn’t know about these beautiful little friends. Also, be sure to release a new butterfly. It is wonderful experience that will stay with forever.

Its a shot in the dark sometimes that comes out best. Don't worry about the drive out, just negotiate price. You'll drive up a dirt road to a... read more semi closed gate and then walk in. So far, so weird... then you'll walk around the dog boarding, next to a larg pond and go to a building with an entrance and exit on the same side. At that point you'll get to see butterflies! And learn all about their habits, find eggs and caterpillars, and then release one into the area. It was a better informative trip than many that I've been on, and although a little out of the way, I would tell people to go!
