We spent a wonderful few hours with Fabian doing this little gem of an excursion. The communication from Fabian right from the start was excellent. We made arrangements to meet... read more at a specific location and time and everything went as planned. Fabian met us and we rode the bus to the town that houses the butterfly sanctuary. We walked a short distance to the sanctuary where we got a history of how everything was set-up. Fabian spent a lot of time explaining everything once we went inside the butterfly house, talking about the host plants and all the processes they go through to protect the butterflies. We saw eggs and caterpillars and, lots of butterflies, of course. After a very personal tour, we got to each release a butterfly that Fabian and his team nurtured from egg to butterfly. It was amazing! We then got to continue to walk through the butterfly house on our own. Once we were done in the butterfly house, we headed out to meet Fabian at the beautiful pond on the property. We enjoyed time with ducks that Fabian had lovingly raised and look at the other wildlife on the property while we enjoyed water and snacks. Fabian then took us back to catch the bus back to Puerto Vallarta, making sure we got back to our starting point. Fabian was friendly, engaged and genuinely interested in us and our family. We would highly recommend this tour! You will learn a lot and spend a relaxing few hours enjoying a little known part of Puerto Vallarta!

Its a shot in the dark sometimes that comes out best. Don't worry about the drive out, just negotiate price. You'll drive up a dirt road to a... read more semi closed gate and then walk in. So far, so weird... then you'll walk around the dog boarding, next to a larg pond and go to a building with an entrance and exit on the same side. At that point you'll get to see butterflies! It was a better informative trip than many that I've been on, and although a little out of the way, I would tell people to go!
