This excursion was something 3 people in my party participated in. It was NOT wheelchair friendly at all and we had to take a taxi which ended up costing more... read more than the actual exhibit because it was far away from our hotel on the Malacon and the taxi driver had to wait for us an hour to give us a ride back or we would have been stuck out in the middle of the jungle. It was fun and thankfully I had a few big guys who made this experience possible for me in a manual wheelchair but I would not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues. The tour guide was awesome and the releasing of the butterflies at the end was really cool. Then I had to pee and that was a whole new problem trying to get to the bathrooms that were far away and not accessible at all. I should have done a lot more research on the accessibility but I just wanted to experience the pretty butterflies!

Wonderful and informative visit to the Mariposario Jardin Magico! We booked the private transport and tour on their website, and they picked us up at our Alta Vista condo in... read more a lovely and comfy sedan for the 40-minute drive. The driver, Guillermo, waited while we took the 2-hour tour of the garden with the owner, Fabian. It was a warm day with not much breeze, and the garden has a filtered sun fabric top, so bring a hand fan and water. Fabian‘s passion and knowledge of butterflies is outstanding. You will learn things you never knew, see things you’ve never seen, take dozens of photos, and even release a butterfly or two while making a wish (and getting a little emotional). The package includes door-to-door transport but we opted for our driver to drop us at a restaurant on the way back instead, and took an Uber home. Recommend 100%! Kids welcome too!
