I did this tour with a group of friends on my last full day in Puerto Vallarta, and what a serene and peaceful way to end our trip. Fabian is... read more an absolute gem and has so much knowledge about each butterfly and can point out the tiniest caterpillar and know which one is which based on the plant the caterpillar was on. We also were lucky enough to see a butterfly emerge from its cocoon during our visit.
I hope this sanctuary is around for many more years for those who want to learn more about nature and really get into the nature of the area. Thanks for sharing your passion with myself and my friends in 2021

This excursion was something 3 people in my party participated in. It was NOT wheelchair friendly at all and we had to take a taxi which ended up costing more... read more than the actual exhibit because it was far away from our hotel on the Malacon and the taxi driver had to wait for us an hour to give us a ride back or we would have been stuck out in the middle of the jungle. It was fun and thankfully I had a few big guys who made this experience possible for me in a manual wheelchair but I would not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues. The tour guide was awesome and the releasing of the butterflies at the end was really cool. Then I had to pee and that was a whole new problem trying to get to the bathrooms that were far away and not accessible at all. I should have done a lot more research on the accessibility but I just wanted to experience the pretty butterflies!

Its a shot in the dark sometimes that comes out best. Don't worry about the drive out, just negotiate price. You'll drive up a dirt road to a... read more semi closed gate and then walk in. So far, so weird... then you'll walk around the dog boarding, next to a larg pond and go to a building with an entrance and exit on the same side. At that point you'll get to see butterflies! And learn all about their habits, find eggs and caterpillars, and then release one into the area. It was a better informative trip than many that I've been on, and although a little out of the way, I would tell people to go!
